Squeakers….

Ahhh what a yummy memory….yes you heard me right squeakers and yummy in the same sentence….So we headed down to Tillamook late in the afternoon to stop off at the Tillamook Cheese Factory. Very cool place, the factory is on the main floor and the whole upper floor is a viewing area! So you can watch them cut the cheese….literally that is! Package the cheese, sort it, weigh it and all that cool stuff. Then you can go down to the main level and taste all the cheese that they make-very yummy-this is the heart of Dairy country. So they have cheese curds-called squeakers-and they are super delicious. We picked up a bag that we were trying to save for a snack- but we pretty much ended up eating them right away. The real centre piece though is the 38 flavours of made on location ice cream. Wow- really creamy and so delicious. Word of caution….I sort of forgot we were in America-land of gigantic portions and ordered three scoops…are you kidding me…there was enough ice cream to feed a family of 8!! Without a doubt a fun way to spend an hour and take a break from the windy seaside. We arrived late in the day, it was chilly out and the place was packed….so if you go in the summer I imagine the lines for ice cream will be hefty.
